Did not get to use it.

I was excited to use this primer but after shaking it for a min or two, I pulled the cap off and somehow I hit the nozzle which broke off. Primer sprayed everywhere. I was not impressed. After reading the reviews on this product, I noticed this has happened to a few people. It might be dumb luck or a design flaw. Whichever it is, be careful when removing the cap!

I have been using this for a few years with no problems, but lately it clogs right away at the neck before the nozzle and will not spray. 4 times in the last month and makes me drive all the way to replace it. Plus the coverage seems to be less thick since the can change.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: Can this product - Gray Primer#047-3721-6 - be applied over the rust?

    1 Answer
    • A: Thank you for taking the time to contact Dupli-Color. For best results, the rust should be removed or treated before using this primer. I'd suggest using a Rust Converting Primer after removing any loose rust. If you have any other questions, please contact us directly at 1-800-247-3270 or info@cbgbrandreview.com. Q: what colour for a dark green volvo 850? Is it easy to find the right colour? I presume an undercoat paint is also required before using this paint, and after de-rusting a spot on the car first?

    • A: Unfortunately, we do not make colors directly for Volvo. You might find a similar match to one of the colors in our line (Ford, GM, etc.). If there is any rust present, you definately need to remove it. You need to take off any large flakes of rust. For surface rust, it can be sanded and sprayed with Rust Fix. The Rust Fix will neutralize the rust. It can then be painted.
