Pretty good tires
I bought a set of these 6 years ago for my '07 Elantra, and just replaced them this season. While there was some tread left, it was too close to the wear bars to expect them to be effective all winter. Neither my son nor I had no performance issues with the tires, but we were careful drivers. The only negative was noise on dry roads, but then again, they are winter tires.

Winter beater

I have had various winter tires over the years and they all have one thing in common. No matter the brand they do not work if you do excessive speed for the condition, regardless of brand. However these little Nordics have been on our car the last few years. The originals were OK, and got us through the average Vancouver winter. They pulled great and worked well in slush. However we changed over to the new style last year and these definately have improved in cornering and roadholding.over the originals when the slippery stuff was down.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Very good winter tires!

I have had these on both of my cars for years and for the price you cannot beat them. Great grip, control and stopping power on snow. They are a little noisy on dry pavement, but what winter tire isn't. I'm just getting set to to go out and buy two more for the upcoming winter.

A: are you sure you dont mean 225/40r18? because im pretty sure the rx8 runs the same size tire as the speed3 and in that case you can go with 205/50r17 and keep your speedometer the same

Q: vibration on steeling wheel after installing 4 snow tires
Installed 4 Nordic snow tires last week at CT. After that, noticed a strong vibration on steeling wheel when speed was over 90km/h. took it back to CT for re-balancing. still the same problem. Can there be any problem with the new tires?

A: It's possible you have an out of round tire. This means that there was a defect in the manufacturing process that make the tire not perfectly round. This will make the tire shake no matter how much you balance them. You should ask CT to replace these tires under warranty.

Q: Can I Replace My 185/65/R14 S60 with 185/65/R14 S85?
Thank you.

A: The S60 symbolizes two things: the S is the tire's speed rating (i.e., S = 180km/h); the 60 is the load rating. The load rating charts I've looked at have a floor of 71, so you must be driving a very light vehicle. Either way, moving up to a load rating of 86 should not be an issue, it just means that the tire is capable of higher loads.

Q: Car to minivan tire swap?
I have 4 new P215/60/R16 studded Nordic's left over from another car I want to install on a minivan that presently has 225/65/16 100S all seasons. The winter tires are obviously smaller; will this create a safety hazard for me?
Thanks.

A: Also note your contact patch (the rubber that actually hit the road) will be smaller. May cause a little more wear cause the same amount of weight is sitting on less area. However you will make better contact with the road.

Q: What snow tires do you recommend for a 2001 Toyota Echo?
I drive mainly in the city of Toronto.

A: i have had these (or perhaps the previous generation or two of these "nordics') on my 2001 Echo for a couple of years and they are great. The traction is greatly improved over all seasons in any conditions. I can recommend if on sale (as anything at CT). However, i see that lately CT is reluctant to put these on sale.... so they seem to be comparable in price with the other brands which is not great.

Q: Do Goodyear Nordic winter tires use in summer time well?
I just install Goodyear Nordic winter tires. I know they are good in winter. I don't want to change back to all season tires in summer time. Can I use Nordic winter tires in summer time? And do they last long if I keep using in summer time?
3 Answers
A: not recomended if you drive 120km/hr a lot in the summer. heat build-up will be an issue. wear out very fast. if you drive slow probably ok(80km/hr or less average speed)

Q: Is the Goodyear Nordic MS a winter tire or an all season tire?
I bouhgt 4 Goodyear Nordic tires. The tires read Goodyear Nordic M S. It's in the Can. Tire as a winter tire. But M & S is for mud and snow. So I'm confused, is this a winter tire or an all season tire?
New to tires!

A: M&S does indicate a more aggressive tread however it should not be used to determine a tire as winter rated as many all seasons have this rating.

Q: What is the alternative size of winter tires for 225/65R16?

A: That difference in tire size would make you speedo inaccurate but not result in brake failure
you could use 215/70R16
