From a 13-Year-Old D-Link to Globe 1080p: A Worthwhile Upgrade

I purchased the Globe 1080p Indoor Smart Wi-Fi Security Camera from Canadian Tire using their mobile app for pickup, primarily to replace my 13-year-old D-Link camera. The ordering process was smooth and efficient—I placed the order on April 22 and received a pickup notification the next day. In-store pickup was seamless, and the QR code worked perfectly with no issues. Setup was straightforward. Downloading and navigating the Globe Suite app was simple, and the installation instructions were clear. The initial connection to my 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi failed once, but it connected successfully on the second attempt without further problems. For mounting, I opted not to rely on the included adhesive. Instead, I secured the base by drilling and using a screw, which provided a much more stable installation. This also makes removal easy if needed. In terms of performance, the camera delivers solid results. Daytime video quality is clear and sharp at 1080p resolution. Night vision is decent and performs as expected for this category. I appreciate the ability to adjust motion and sound sensitivity, which adds flexibility depending on placement. Two-way audio works, though there is a slight delay. The addition of local storage via an SD card is a major advantage, and the app makes it easy to access both live footage and recordings. One of the standout features is that there is no subscription required, which adds long-term value. —-One drawback is the short power cable, which can limit placement options unless an extension is used.—- Overall, after two days of use, I’m satisfied with the camera’s performance and ease of use. It is a noticeable upgrade from my older D-Link unit, and if it proves reliable over time, it will be an excellent long-term replacement. From real person who actually bought this.

Globe security cameras are simple simple to setup and the cameras are just work.

No monthly fees ! I been using Globe security cameras for a couple of years and just bought a couple more to expand coverage. The cameras are easy to setup, problem free & proven, the playback video works great, the notifications are almost instant, and once you buy the cameras there is no monthly fee.
