No good for a tight space

It wasn't clear until i installed the thing that your vehicle needs to be 6" or more from the sensor in order for it to work well. I have a very tight fit in my garage where i need to park about 3" away from the wall and this sensor just isn't reliable enough to ensure that the back of my car is all the way in. It will often give a "false positive" reading that i am in when in fact i am not. If you have a tight fit in your garage i recommend going with the "tennis ball on a string" or rubber blocks for the front wheels, as the physical nature of those solutions will give a more robust and reliable result 100% of the time.

No, I do not recommend this product.

    • A: No. This unit is 80’s technology. It needs 4 AA batteries. Note: The batteries don’t last long and need to be changed 4-5 times a year

Q: What size batteries and how long do they last?

    1 Answer
    • A: The Parking Sensor uses 4 AA batteries, sold separately. With normal use the batteries should last an average of 4-5 months. When the battery power is low, the unit will flash colors to alert the customer that it is time to change the batteries.

Q: Would this work if you were backing into your garage? How would you see the sensor?

    1 Answer
    • A: The parking sensor can be utilized the same way whether pulling in or reversing into the garage. The c light unit will need to be set up where they it can be seen in the rearview mirror, and the sensor at bumper level. Typically the windows in the front and back of the vehicle are at the same height, as well is the front and back bumper.
