So sad

So disappointed, wanted one of these for so long my mom finally caved and bought me one as a gift and it quit working even with regular cleaning. I went in to exchange it for another one (thinking maybe this one is a fluke and not wired correctly) and now it's been discontinued! Such a let down and sad to tell my mom when she came over to enjoy it with us it no longer works only after a few weeks and for that price tag. I wish there was some option to fix this.. really disappointed canadian tire didn't offer us any solutions simply shrugged their shoulders and told us this is common.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Fantastic purchase and perfect addition

I have been searching for a ice maker for a while now. My search is definitely over. I found the perfect nugget ice maker. Looks great in my kitchen and produces little nugget ice peices within moments. I did not waste any time in cleaning it and putting it to work. Love the fact it has a light as well. Price was fantastic too which was a bonus.

Q: Would the size of the ice be considered crushed ice, or are they larger than that?

A: Hi Dorice, this unit makes nugget ice that is similar in size to crushed ice. The process to make nugget ice is different i.e. full size ice cubes are not broken up (crushed) but with this unit, ice is formed into nugget sized pieces from water.

Q: When the ice melts, does it recycle back to the water system to make more ice?

A: Hi Blair, the storage compartment/basket for ice is not refrigerated. It is recommended that ice be transferred to zipper lock type bags and stored in your conventional freezer.
