Poor craftsmanship

Two purchased by my girlfriend as a Christmas gift so we could have company over for Christmas dinner. First one assembled ok but the other assembled poorly due to miss shaped pieces (chair back) and a very rough swivel. Took it back Boxing Day for another and experienced many of the same problems assembling it. Chair back was poorly designed which rounded screws and assembled poorly. They look good but cheap materials and poor craftsmanship seriously compromise value. Will try one more time but rapidly loosing faith in this product.

Q: Swivel part j. Is there anyway to loosen the swivel part of the chair? It barely moves. Maybe a lubricant?

A: The ball bearings are visible. A very light spray with WD40 will loosen it up some.

Q: Part J does not swivel, assistance with assembly I am having difficulty figuring out the assembly instructions. Part J does not seem to swivel. Do I need to remove anything to make it work?

2 Answers

A: I does indeed swivel. But you have to have some force on it. For example, you won't be able to swivel the actual part J by hand. But it will swivel when fully assembled and you sit on it. It's designed to have a moderate swivel and not too free moving.
