Preferred the easier to use older version

Just tried this today. It is awkward trying to keep the e sealing edge of the bag flat while you pull the lid down. If you are arthritis like me, it is hard to press down on the two edges to lock it. I liked my previous food saver with an easy locking mechanism, easy to follow instructions in the lid and an easy load edge of the bag. Once I figured out that the bag edge could not be over the drip channel, I was finally able to get it to vacuum and seal. I didn’t think it was much less bulky that my old unit. I haven’t had it long enough to assess how well it preserves food. Would definitely prefer my old food saver. Sadly, it “died”.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Très satisfaite du produit pour le moment, reste à voir à long terme. Je l'ai acheté pour remplacer mon ancien qui a rendu l'âme et bien qu'il soit de base çà me convient parfaitement. Facile d'utilisation et petit format pour ceux qui n'ont pas trop d'espace pour le remiser.

Q: Can you vacuum seal homemade soups with this product?

We always recommend pre-freezing the soups before sealing. Liquids tend to expand in the freezer, and this could compromise that vacuum seal. The way you get around this is to freeze the liquids first and then vacuum seal.
