These rain barrels have served us well.

So far so good! We have two in tandem so have access to a lot of rainwater. They are both up on stands to make it easier to access the spigot. Also we changed out each barrels spigot from the gate valve to the ball valve for ease of opening and closing. We had to purchase this one because the other got a crack and I was tired of siliconing it each year. When installing this one I placed it on a solid piece of plywood on the stand so the barrel sits flat. It’s easy to clean in the fall with the lid coming off. Also the screen stops any mosquitoes from accessing.

Q: Is there a Spigot Replacement? I bought 2 of these barrels last year and yes they do leak a little ... I leave a water can under them to catch the drip. Bought one this year and the spigot does not leak ... Can I buy just the spigots?

A: We bought this barrel 4 summers ago. By the next spring the spigot was leaking and garbage. We purchased a new online from the Big A place and caulked the outside. Not only was it for under $20 but it was superior to what came with barrel

A: The diameter of the hose is about 6 and a half inches. At the end where you hook it to the rain barrel, it is 5 and a half inches in diameter.

Q: How do you get the water out from the bottom if the spigot is about 10 - 12 inches from the bottom?

A: The barrel does not need to be emptied fully when actively in use because if the barrel is completely empty it will be blown away by the wind. However, before the winter arrives the water needs to be fully drained by turning the barrel upside down.
