Great camping and emergency lantern

I've had two of these lanterns for several years, and I've used them for camping, during power outages, and anywhere that I might need a little extra light (like when working on the car!). The hook on the bottom makes it easy (and safe) to hang them in a tent, and my kids like the nightlight feature. The low center of gravity makes them very stable on flat surfaces. The 3 LEDs provide a lot of light, and really stretch the batteries.

I gave it 3 stars because if the model is still the same the middle light bulb can no longer be replaced as that type of flashlight bulb is no longer made. However I give the nightlight part 5 stars. We use it nightly and change the D batteries once every three or four months. There's no glare like you can sometimes get from some night lights.

not as canadian tire described

First off it does include batteries but AA not D. It does not run for 500 hours also as described by Canadian tire. The picture of the lantern shows 15 hours but the one I purchased states 29 hours. Perhaps it could run for 500 hours on the D batteries but Energizer's website has no information on this. It seems well built but I have not used it for any length of time and have not tested the weather resistance yet.

Q: Size? 15 hrs runtime? ( on the package )...yet, in "features" it's says 500 hours! Will it run for 500 hrs on the Lowest setting? A "nightlite" setting? can it plug into an outlet? & If so,...will it charge rechargeable "D" Batteries Thanks in advance!

A: The one I just purchased states 29 hours. It may run for 500 hours as a night light but Energizer's website has no information on run time.
