    blade assembly fell apart

This is a long discontinued item and parts are unavailable. It leaks unless assembled with laser precision. The blade assembly disintegrated after several uses. Junk.

buy the kitchenaid instead of Electrolux

I have no issues with Canadian tire because they were extremely helpful. The first Electrolux blender I bought (model ELJB56B8PS) lasted about 3 months and I was able to exchange it for a new one at Canadian tire. The blade drive stripped from the blade shaft. The second one sat on the counter for about 8 months before we started to use again. I would add about a cup of liquid and toss in 1/4 cup of frozen fruit. It worked well on this light blending task. So we decided we would like to make a frozen drink. I put in 3 cups of liquid add 1 cup frozen fruit and blended. Then added about 6 ice cubes and blended. A task even a $30 blender could handle with ease. Well this worked 4 times and then the blade drive wheel stripped from the blade shaft again. Now I was out of the warranty period and decided to look for replacement part. The cost turned out to be approx $50 for new blade assembly (taxes and shipping included). But I decided that was too much to pay for a part that was going to fail after 3 or 4 uses. Instead I purchased a KitchenAid Diamond blender with 5 year warranty. Approx same price on sale. Don't waste your money on the defective and poorly made Electrolux Blender.

I was very excited used for making smoothies, great power, nice sleek look. had a motor type smell at first thought it is new will wear off. It sure wore off... the underneath part stripped with in three weeks of using once a day. VERY Disappointing, will have to return and get another one now.

    poorly made

Bought one, within 3 months the motor had stripped the drive gear out on the blade. It is made of cheap aluminum, not sure how they expect it to last very long. Electrolux sent out a second one as a warranty replacement. It lasted less then 2 weeks as the gear stripped out again. Not even going to bother calling electrolux again.

No, I do not recommend this product.
