A: The paddle does not float. One item that pairs well with these paddles is the paddle leash...it will keep the paddle from getting away or sinking to the bottom.

Q: With the paddles being fastened in the middle, are they sturdy enough for a fast pace, or will they buckle under pressure of use ?

A: All kayak paddles are fastened in the middle. They are designed this way and will not buckle under regular paddle strokes in flat or moving waters.
