Absolute garbage. Buy Rustoleum instead.

I ran out of Rustoleum filler primer, so came to buy more. Rustoleum was out of stock so I tried this. Big mistake, it's incredibly viscous and comes out with a horribly uneven spray pattern, resulting in a very lumpy finish that needs to be sanded heavily. Do yourself a favour and get Rustoleum instead, even if you have to wait for shipping from online.

Not so great for use on wood.

I bought this to fill the grin in a plywood laser cut sign that had been sealed with shellac. I few areas had grain less than 1/32" deep. The primer did not fill them after 4 coats.

A: Hello. Since we do not test with other companies products we cannot guarantee the results. If the patch is dry you can test an area but ideally the primer is designed to be used on the bare surface. Regards, Dupli-Color Customer Support

Q: Can this be used on plastics?

A: The Dupli-Color Adhesion Promoter (CCP199) should be used first prior to using the Dupli-Color Scratch Filler Auto Primer. This will increase the bond to the plastic surface. Q: Is this good to use over old sanded paint or only bare metal.

A: Yes, This can be applied over sanded paint. Ideally you should sand through the clearcoat if present, but product will work over sanded paint.
