I used this primer when I dyed my grey seat pivot covers to match my new black seat upholstery. It passed the scratch and scuff test and looks great!

Pretty good!

Pretty good for what it is. Goes on very easily. Atomizer: good with even distribution. OCCASIONALLY will come out in blobs but I’m not as bothered because it’s just a primer. Doesn’t blob as much as the spray paint does. Can size: VERY good. Was able to prime both of my ready-paint side skirts for my 8th gen civic. Still had some leftover

Yes, I recommend this product.

Q: Can it will be used on plastic before applying water based acrylic from airbrush

  • A: I used it on a plastic box and then used an acrylic spray paint and it held up outside all summer with no peeling or fading. Rough up the surface first with sandpaper.

  • A: I used it to prime some plastic fender flares for my truck before painting. It’s been about 8 months on mainly gravel / grid roads and not one chip. Worked for me.

Q: can this be used on an epoxy resis surface to prep for a 2k spray finish?

1 Answer
  • A: We do not have any types of epoxy resins or 2k clears in our product offerings so we do not have any information on if our products would be compatible with either type of these products. The only thing we can recommend is that if the customer is insistent on using the Adhesion Promoter on the surface that they test on a piece of scrap material.

Q: I have a new replacement plastic bumper cover for a Honda Civic. It’s already prime painted by the manufacturer. Will this product prevent the final finishing coat from peeling off?

1 Answer
  • A: Hello. The Adhesion Promoter needs to be applied to the bare plastic surface, it should not be used over an already primed surface. Regards, Dupli-Color Customer Support
