Works well, does the job, but the can is not a friendly size diameter in removing the asphalt to apply. An accompanying tool would be nice for application.

A: « Le client doit éliminer toute trace importante de rouille à l'aide d'une brosse métallique avant d'appliquer la sous-couche. Si le produit est appliqué sans préparation préalable sur une surface déjà rouillée, le processus de rouille sera ralenti, mais probablement pas stoppé. A: Solvent-based asphaltic coatings such as this one can generally be applied directly to aluminum. However, consideration should be given to the condition of the aluminum substrate. Highly oxidized aluminum may need to be treated with an acidic conversion product provide adequate coating adhesion.

Q: How is this applied by brush? This product is thick as tar. I tried to stir but the stir stick snapped. I would like to know how to apply by brush.

A: Product 47-7927 undercoat Asphalt is a very thick product. It is trowel grade, which means it is almost meant to be spread. Use a brush or trowel to do a scoop like motion into the product and it can be spread around. The bristles on the brush help to spread the product. It does not brush on like paint.

A: 47-7927 could be used however it would not penetrate the wood very well. A better suited product would be 47-7999. Be sure to clean the underside area being applied with a good wax and grease remover let flash off and then apply the 47-7999.

Q: How would you remove this once applied? I'd like to know what will get it off areas that it should;t be on?

A: You should use -varsol/mineral spirits and you may also use a plastic scraper to remove; if cured, soften with a heat gun and scrape to remove most of material, then clean with varsol/mineral spirits.
