What a lemon!

I bought this a month ago and it doesn’t pick up lint and leaves the area dirtier. Dirt Devil doesn’t stand by their warranty and Canadian Tire outsourced me to a local repair shop. What ever happened to standing by your product? Don’t waste your money, get a real vacuum.

Worst vacuum!!!

Do not purchase! Worst suction, other reviews are correct when you use the handheld dust flies out everywhere. Bought 3.5 months ago and suddenly this morning it stopped working. Will be contacting customer service, what a hassle!!

Worst Vacuum

I bought this vacuum this year and had been experiencing issues. I contacted at the customer service number which is long listed number and explained the problem but the lady wasnt successful to solve issue. I even took it back to place where I got it. They fixed issue but problem came back. Its main issue is that it doesn't suck well.All garbage remains in pipes. I have to buy a new one and certainly never this devil. I

This vacuum’s suction is poor. When you remove the hand held peice from the base the dust goes flying out of the hole from where the hand held connects to the canister, causing everything from the canister to fly back out on the floor. The hardest thing to deal with is the combination of extremely poor suction and the bristles, when this vacuum is used on tile or hardwood objects do not get sucked up, rather they get tossed around behind the vacuum and you can feel the objects shooting towards your feet.

A: This Dirt Devil is often on sale. You would be crazy to buy it even at the sale price and would be completely out of your mind to buy it at regular price, as it is a terrible, terrible product.

Q: Is this product good for Hardwood floors

A: I have built out of light bristol board a air deflector that sends the air up instead of in front of the vacuum. This works best because it does not restrict the air flow at all. Just never block the vent and keep it clean.. Make sure it has lots of room for the vented air to escape. Or you will burn the vacuum out fast and it is not covered by warranty! I learned the hard way! :)

Q: What is the warranty on this product?

A: Store just told me it is 30 days full refund if you return it in the original box, UNUSED, with receipt. After that, it is a 'repair warranty' only. Eg.: CT sends it away to DD 'repair facility' who inspect it and repair it if necessary. They may likely tell you there is nothing wrong with it and/or that your filters were dirty and needed replacing. So, once you use it and hate it, good luck selling it used.

Q: does the brush really clean low carpets The problem I had with another similar product was that the brush being that it's automatic was that it didn't really get into the carpet...in my appartment it's one of those industrial rugs (really a carpet). Also is the suction very good or....

A: The suction is great! Sometimes with my lower carpets it would shoot the particles out from underneath, but after a couple of passes, everything was picked up. I even used this vacuum on tile floors!

Q: Can the wheels and chassis be detached? Can the wheels and chassis be detached -- for doing stairs? The only carpets in my apartment are on the stairs and landing.

A: No the wheels cannot be detached. Stairs are a bit of a pain with this vacuum.

Unfortunately, this model does not feature the manual height adjustment setting, however, it does have an automatic height adjustment that allows you to navigate from hard floors to high pile carpeting.
