Worked great as a stand alone starter for a great price. My wife stopped being a nag because her car is warm.... well, stopped being a nag about a cold car anyway.... im glad the canadian tire carries almost all the nag stopping products required to keep her from ending me.

You will need a programmer to load the firmware features.

Good product , can be used as stand alone remote start with your factory key transmitter by pushing the lock button 3 times. Just remember the range is only as good as the transmitter range.

The programmer that can be bought to make usable won't allow you to program unless you are a dealer or spend 2000 every 3 months on their products. Don't waste money

A: It will not start your vehicle you need a separate remote start for that this item is to connect and bypass your security system for remote start only but you have to take it to a remote start shop to be programmed you cannot do it yourself! You need to be a dealer to program it

A: The answer from the CanadianTireTeam isn't completely true. The Smart Start they are referring to will work with most DEI products such as AstroStart, Autostart, Viper etc.

Q: Does any canadian tire store program these? If you by the programmer off the shelf it still doesn't allow you access unless your a dealer. Waste of money

Q: Is this a module that can be a remote starter and a bypass module in one? Will it work in a 2016 vw cc?

A: No you will need a different module.. dball3 is not compatible with Volkswagen. A dball2 can be used for convenience features (door locks/ status /tach / disarm) but must be flashed with euro firm ware. Look at getting remote start from idata link or Fortin for your vw

A: Yes it can, the immobilizer override interface 0342402 will work, the interface need to be flashed with the TL11 firmware If your vehicle is a Regular Key type or with the TL1 firmware If your vehicle is a Push Button start. System needs to be professionally installed by your local Canadian Tire store
