Q: Is this device the only thing required to install in your vehicle to make the Phone app work? Can you install this yourself and activate - videos looks simple enough? Have read some comments about activation requiring an authorized dealer.

A: You’ll need to add the SmartStart system (34-0841) in order to make the phone app work and be installed and activated by a qualified technician at Canadian Tire. A 1 or 3 year option Service plan is required.
