We renovate historic homes and own many DeWalt tools and products most of which we have had good service from. Although we have owned the sanders for a couple of years we have only used them for a few hours. Recently, the same thing happened to 2 Dewalt sanders (DWE6423 and DWE6411K) as happened to many others who reported in their reviews previously. Both pads were destroyed within 1 hour of sanding. As many before have stated, replacing the expensive pads only to have them destroyed again isn't practical. The only option is to source a more reliable sander that's designed to last many years.

Haven’t even used this sander and it’s falling apart. Now I’m gonna have to buy another attachment when it’s just poor quality built. That’s a shame I literally have every tool DeWalt cells that’s cordless and corded. This one is by far the worst definitely took me by surprise and as a longtime customer, I am really disappointed. Tools are how I make my living and feed my family. I am hoping that DeWalt stands by their product like they have in the past with me and fixes this issue by sending me a new pad at no cost.

Very disappointed in Dewalt. I was able to get several years of use out of the OEM pad and I replaced it with a genuine pad once. The first replacement lasted until the foam disintegrated. My husband used the sander today for the project being careful not to press into the sander itself but the pad still last more than a few hours. We are buying a whole new sander because we've already about spent the original cost of this sander with "genuine" parts and still can't get it into working condition. I blame the design of the DWE6423 sander overall. So wasteful because the motor itself works just fine but will end up in a landfill because of shoddy pad design.

Same as everyone else. Backer on the pad blasted into orbit when the unreinforced bolt holes broke out. Almost hit my kid. Shopping for another brand to switch to...

Replacement pad died in 20 minutes.

Original pad worked for about five years, and only died because the foam backing disintegrated. New Dewalt branded replacement spun off the machine after the first 20 minutes of use because the fiberglass backing that screws to the machine stripped out. Too bad… sander was ok otherwise.

  • A: We're sorry for not having an answer to your question. We have not tested the DWE64233 on another brand. Compatible with DWE6423/6423K, DWE6421/6421K, DCW210B random orbital sander.
