Disappointing

The grinder gets full of condensation when you brew coffee so using it would require you to dry it first. I thought the built in grinder would make it easier but it made it harder so I returned the coffee maker.

Bring back old design

Love our older machine and it works great but tired of hauling back and forth from home to cabin so bought a new one. So disappointed. Used once and lid on carafe falls off, have to wash grinder every time and more issues than I can list here. I would return if I had the receipt.

No, I do not recommend this product.

This machine is messy and leaks coffee grounds

We received this as a gift and were initially very excited. Unfortunately this machine does not live up to the cuisinart name. It leaks if you try to make more than 8 cups of coffee and the carafe is full of coffee grounds. We have tried everything listed in the manual, using paper filters, using the included filter basket and it still leaks. Unfortunately this machine will be going in the garbage.

New design is cheap and time consuming to clean.

Been using the Cuisinart Grind and Brew for 15 years. This was the 3rd one. The first 2 were of an entirely design. Bought a replacement because the other ones lasted a long time and did a good job. Anybody who rates this highly must have zero experience with this kind of product. Worst part:, To make it cheaper Cuisinart changed the style of grinder completely. The original took 5 minutes to clean with just a brush once a week. This one takes 5 to 7 minutes every night and needs to be washed and dried. Carafe went from a stainless thermos style to a glass container. It won't last. Top rated my butt. Cheap cheap cheap. Don't buy it unless you like to waste time, money and don't really like good coffee.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Great Coffee System

We have the same unit and we love it. This replaces the older unit, which is no 7 years old. A great machine for freshly ground coffee.

Q: How often do we have to change charcoal filter? Is it required? Thank you

  • A: It is required and they’re reasonable priced.  It depends on how many pots of coffee you make but for a pot a day you should be good for about 4-6 months

Q: can you grind the beans the night before so that it isnt noisy in the morning?

3 Answers
  • A: Hi, You can grind beans the night before and use the Grind Off setting in the morning if you’d prefer less noise. Please note that coffee may lose some freshness when ground in advance. Q: how long does it stay on for? does it have a self clean its self?

2 Answers
  • A: The element under the glass carafe stays on for two hours and keeps the coffee very warm. It plays a short tone before shutting off. It does not have any self-clean functions. In addition to replacing/cleaning the filter and rinsing the carafe, the grinder needs to be rinsed/cleaned after each use.

Q: Why did Cuisinart change the design to such a cheap grinder that is difficult to clean

1 Answer
  • A: It's not a cheap grinder. But the grinder is slightly difficult due to the moisture. It still easy to use though
