Lasted a year

The fabric sewing deteriorated nearest the connection to my hose and resulted in heavy leakage from the soaker hose. It has happened with two of these so far. I don't think that it is robust enough to handle the higher water pressure nearest the water line connection.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Right product, wrong materials.

After 2 months of use, here’s my experience: The concept is great. Hose worked as it should out of the package. The reality of real-world use is less so. About 3-4 weeks in, I could hear it spraying somewhere out of sight in the flower bed. Found the area and pulled up the hose to find it had been rodent chewed. No problem…the couplings are a replacement type so 1 screwdriver and 15 minutes later I’m back in business….until it happened again. I “feel” that the inner plastic may be a soy based product which, although is “greener” than oil based, is a favourite of mice and squirrels. I will repair it again and try it in a different location, but once bitten….

No, I do not recommend this product.

garbage, wound it through my garden and then covered with mulch. 3 weeks later it's leaking like a crazy at the end. it would be very difficult to remove but they disturbing the rest of the garden. extremely disappointed with the quality of this product. I guess I will try to return it at the end of the season when I've lived and started. hopefully this helps other people when they choose this product.

  • A: No. It doesn't spray out, it sort of leaks out. Meant for slow watering shrubs and flowerbeds.

Q: Can you join hoses together?

2 Answers
  • A: Yes. The hose can be joined to any other hose, be it another Gilmour Weeper, or any other soaker hose or any "solid" garden hose used where no soaking is wanted (ie: at the tap, or crossing a walkway ).

Q: How many hoses can be connected together?

1 Answer
  • A: In my experience it all depends on your water pressure. Certainly 2 can be joined. Try a third one and see how much water is dripping or soaking out of the end of the last hose.

Q: Is this soaker hose designed for low pressure systems. I am not planning to run it off mains water or a well, I'm using rain barrels/tanks.

1 Answer
  • A: If you are using a rain barrel as your source of water, very likely the psi will be too low for water to weep out of the hose and as well, the rain barrel water pressure will likely diminish( not be constant) as the barrel empties. How much water released is a function of the psi from the source. The flow rate re our weeping hose is 10-15 litre/per hour/per meter depending on the temperature and the pressure. The pressure should be between 43.5 psi to 72.5 psi.

Q: Trying to use this with rain barrel via water pump. Works fine when connected to house faucet, but not with water pumps (Little Giant Model 360 and Danner Model 5) it never releases water. What pressure is needed for this hose to work?

1 Answer
  • A: The 15M weeping hose would require a minimum 30 psi to operate efficiently.
