Amazing results for something so small

I bought this less than a month ago but so far I'm super impressed. My 1 bedroom apartment gets sun all day and turns into a hotbox. I have this set up in my patio door (patio adapter isnt included) and it cools down my entire apartment minus the laundry closet. Today it's 30 put but I'm sitting at 21.9 inside thanks to this and some 90% black out curtains. Due to some storms in the area my place had multiple power surges and this thing just restarted as if nothing happened and has been working just as well. Highly recommend

Waste of your money

Bought this unit July 2022, it hasn’t worked properly this summer. Cleaned filters, emptied water still goes to P-1 after ten minutes running in cool mode for ac. Called there Customer Service terrible service. This company knows there Comfee 3-1 portable ac units are defective but still sells them 0 out of five stars and I’ve sent the word out NOT to buy this product.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Avoid this AC unit

Bought this in the summer of 2022. Used it no problem for July/August. It went into storage until June 2023, and no longer works. Husband took it apart, cleaned it out, all it does is recirculate the air, making it a very expensive, very loud and very bulky fan, that doesn't even oscillate. Dave your money on a product that will last more than 1 summer.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Fail after one year

Got this unit last year for our bedroom in our summer cabin. Used it maybe 20 days last year. Only ran it at night. This year, after running it for a few hot evening in May it packed it in. Everything works. I can hear the compressor kick in but it fails to cool the air in the slightest. Getting it repaired will cost more than a new one. These units are relatively cheap, throw-away technology. Recommend spending a little more $$ on a more reputable brand like LG.

No, I do not recommend this product.

DO NOT BUY PLEASE GOD NOT EVEN SECONDHAND

I was given this machine by someone in my building and I understand why now, it's a piece of garbage. Can it make a room a bit colder? Yes, if it's a SMALL bedroom. Any other room is useless. It leaked all over my floor because it "is a non removeable bucket machine." IT DESERVES ZERO STARS. The beeping feature (8 beeps and machine turns off if water is inside) is a joke, my machine did not beep it just flooded. I hate this.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: Can this air conditioner be used without draining water. I don’t want a bucket that I have to continually empty 3 times a day. And it doesn’t look nice with a bucket in my living room

  • A: If you use it 24/7 all summer time you might too. There is a hose/tube attachment that comes with it you can drain it with. I haven't had to drain mine. Hope that helps.

Q: I bought this Comfee portable air conditioner for my son's room. The size of his room is 10x10 so perfect size.... But, it keeps shutting off and turns back on again. Please someone tell me how to stop this from happening. We want it to stay on!

  • A: I use it on a boat when connected to shore power. I've never experienced it turning off except when the desired temperature is reached. Are you confident you have it on the AC function, and the room temperature isn't at or below your setting?

Q: I have a small vertical sliding window. The height of the window from bottom to top is 13 inches. Can you make the window slider kit that small? and if so, will the height of the window (13 inches) affect the cooling?

A: You can cut the board from the kit to make it fit as it is made in plastic and can install the board horizontally. As long as you get the hot air vent to outside and seal the window well, it will work.

Q: How many pints of water does this hold? And can I use the air conditioner and dehumidifier at the same time?

2 Answers
  • A: The unit is not designed to hold water. In air conditioning or dehumidifying modes, it should be continuously drained through included drain hose (or a standard garden hose) to an external bucket or floor drain. When in air conditioning mode, it dehumidifies at the same time as a side effect. Conversely, in hot and humid days, when it’s running in dehumidifier mode, it would feel cooler as humidity is extracted from ambient air

Q: Do you ever have to drain any water out of the air conditioner. Ty. Enjoy

  • A: So what they're saying is, you don't have to drain the water from it, unless it gets full, then you do. Kind of contradictory isn't it..?

Q: Can this air conditioner be used in swing out window with an inside screen?

  • A: It can, but it will require custom installation. A piece of plywood cut to the widow opening with a hole for the A/C exhaust will work well.
