Coleman Cookout 3-Burner Propane BBQ

Bought this 3 weeks ago and no complaints so far. Was easy to assemble, fires up immediately and works well.

We have used this Coleman Cookout 3 - Burner BBQ 10 times now since assembly and due to several issues with this product, we will provide our findings as follows: Assembly – A few of the threaded insert locations did not match the pre-drilled holes for the parts mounting to that location. Very difficult to line up. 3 of the inserts had bad threads, therefore we could not tighten the supplied screws. This in turn made the BBQ wobbly. We purchased shorter versions of the same screws and were then able to tighten those area’s. Igniter – Per the lighting instructions in the supplied manual, it takes 10 – 25 pushes of the igniter button for the BBQ to light. Never had that issue before with a BBQ. We are now using a handheld BBQ lighter, through the side hole of the BBQ base to light the first burner. Design – The front panel behind the control knobs is all plastic and extends up the front and curves in to meet the grill base. This is now melting due to the heat from the BBQ and we are skeptical that this panel will last one season. The panel can no longer be wiped down for cleaning, as any splatter from grilling, is burned into the plastic material. Cooking Grates – 3 cooking grates are supplied, with the fit being noticeably smaller than the area they are designed for. Cleaning with a brush is a noisy task, as the grates bounce off the BBQ metal walls, which is annoying to us and probably our neighbors as well, so we need to hold them in place with one hand while brushing with the other. It seems these grates were not designed for this BBQ, due to the loose fit. Cooking Heat – This BBQ does get hot very quickly, reaching 500 – 600 degrees F, in about 5 minutes, which is great for searing. Heat control seems to be relatively good, holding at desired temps, with minimal adjustments. Summary – We liked the static design and heavy-duty appearance of this BBQ and thought that this Coleman would be a good replacement for our out going Cuisinart, which we had for many years. Should have purchased another Cuisinart for the same money.
