Meh.. ok for camping, but not ideal.

Had these panels for two camping seasons. The 'stand' in this kit is pretty flimsy.. falls apart by looking at it too hard. The panels themselves work. The whole kit has some fair weight to it, so bulky to lift or carry. Would be nice to have a carry bag, the box it came in has foam sheets that break easily.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Sunforce Inverter Dead after 24 hours use.

Installed yesterday. Worked great for one day. Today the inverter goes continually into overload mode with no more cellphone pluged in. Now to see if Canadian Tire will give me a new inverter. Not impressed so far.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: Can Then Be Mounted To A Camper Trailer Roof?

    • A: I installed two 36" long 2"X4" under the metal frame so that the metal wouldn't rub directly on the roof membrane of my 5th Wheel trailer.

Q: How much of my motor home can I power at the same time? I have a 36' motor home with standard interior lighting, fridge, gas water heater, 2 ac units, 2 tvs, computer, gas furnace.

    • A: This type of question is complex as the solar panels are actually simply charging your 12V batteries, not running items. Electronic items such as AC units do take a lot of power and will drain down a 12V battery bank rapidly. We have built a handy ‘solar calculator’ on our website to assist such questions. This can be viewed at: http://www.sunforceproducts.com/solar_calculator.php By inputting the device you can get a good understanding of what you can run, this will help size up both the solar and help you choose an inverter and battery bank at your local Canadian Tire.

Q: Will this panel put out enough power to run an electric room heater? 120V - 60 Hz 1500 W

    1 Answer
    • A: The 60 Watt Solar Power Generator Kit is designed to deliver charge to a 12-Volt battery. The room heater you wish to run requires the use of a power inverter to deliver AC power from the DC battery. The inverter that comes with this kit only generates 200W, where your heater is rated at 1500W. This means not only is the 60W solar panel undersized to keep that battery charged, the inverter is also undersized for this type of application

Q: Query if i want to expand the wattage and add another panel. do I have to buy the same brand of panel or do they all usually run the same commections?

    1 Answer
    • A: Connections with other brands may not be shared, but solar panels in general are able to work in tandem. Make sure to match the solar technology, either amorphous (like your current kit) or crystalline.
