Great addition to our inexpensive bird feeder.

I added this to one of my two bird feeders. It keeps most of the squirrels away and the birds can use it. It also makes a bit of a rain and ice shield from inclement weather on the ground below it for ground feeding.

After 5 days it broke in half. Don’t know what happened to it as I just went outside and noticed it was broke. Won’t be purchasing another.

A: Thanks, PeterG - ingenious! This worked for me by twisting the plastic notches in a circular fashion with long nose pliers. I think the fact that the green hook comes installed is a packaging error, as it doesn't correspond to the instructions and stated possible usage. One shouldn't have to mangle the item to use as described!

Q: I think Canadian Tire needs to provide the answer to this issue for those who want to pole mount this baffle. The already inserted hook is not easy to remove when you are working within a plastic insert. Too much pressure and it will be break, etc.

A: I don’t think that’s the intended purpose of this device. My bird feeder pile came with a baffle. I put mine over one of the feeders and it works great to keep the seeds dry and the squirrels out of that feeder.
