I can't believe this product is getting good reviews. When I ripped open the bag, it had the appearance of wet, black clay (I know there is no such thing). It was so heavy, eventually, I had to mix it with a lighter soil from another company.

I tested this soil against a bag of the Schultz mix for my vegetable seedlings and this one was far superior in terms of germination and growth.

Q: Soil Kg to litres conversion? I usually by top soil in litres. This bag show in kg. What's the conversion?

2 Answers

A: This cannot easily be calculated due to widely varied moisture content & content composition (peat, loam, vermiculite, etc...) within the various products. It's one thing to convert a kitchen recipe with ingredients in amounts to the same recipe in weights by weighing the individual amounts. Unfortunately, you could buy 3.3cf bags of peat with as much as 5-10kg difference in weight (in this case mostly of the difference is moisture).
