The Champion Power Equipment 201070 3650-Watt Portable Generator is the perfect combination of versatility and convenience. Power up with Champion’s reliable recoil start, plus Cold Start Technology ensures a quick start in cold weather. Champion also makes it easy to monitor voltage, frequency, runtime, and total runtime hours with Intelligauge. Designed for safety with convenient resettable circuit breakers, a low oil shut-off sensor plus an included oil funnel for easy changes, this unit has a 0.6-quart oil capacity (recommended 5W-30).The reliable 224cc single-cylinder OHV Champion engine produces 4550 starting watts and 3650 running watts, and will run for up to 14 hours at 50% load when the 4.7-gallon tank of gasoline is full. With a noise level of 68 dBA from 23 feet, which is about as loud as a vacuum cleaner, this machine can handle most essentials in a power outage. Champion’s thoughtful packaging and clear directions make setup hassle free, plus the foldaway handle makes it easy to store.

Q: Is this generator ok to sit out in the rain and I see it has 2 regular outlets for extension cords, can either of the other plugs be scaled down to accommodate a regular 120 v type plug
3 years agoA: With a special cord from Champion you can convert the one twist lock 120v-30amp outlet to three 120v-20amp outlets. I'm not sure about the RV outlet.

Q: Does this generator need to be running for it to supply power to electrical systems? Does it have a battery that charges up for when it's not on?
4 years agoA: Yes, it needs to be running but can run full blast for 8 hours on a tank of gas. We can run a tv, WIFI, fans, an oxygen concentrator (the reason we bought it) and plug in a toaster or kettle for a quick lunch when the power goes out. As a woman in her 60's, I can roll it out of the garage to the side of the house and start it up myself. Just use the large heavy duty extension cords to avoid power loss over a distance. I plug in two 50 foot extension cords and then power bar for the electrical appliances. There is no battery. It starts with just one easy pull of the cord.

4 years agoA: This unit is already grounded the back panel of the unit, but there is no additional grounding needed to be done on this unit unless it is being used on a job site and code requires it or if it is going to be permanently attached to your home and code requires it to be grounded.
