Bad sensor out of the package

I bought this generator and immediately took it to work with me in the middle of nowhere. It took an hour to get going as the low oil sensor was showing low (it was not low). Disabled the sensor and the machine did the job. Suppose it’s my fault for not running it up at home but disappointing all the same.

Great little Generator

I got this nice little generator because it has the proper plug ins for RV. Filled it up with gasoline and the provided oil. Turned on the fuel switch and it started with one easy pull. Ran it for five hours under various light loads never missed a beat! Now I will change the oil and it will be ready for the next time we go off grid camping or for use around the farm where there is no available power. Nicely priced on sale too!

Easy to operate

Was in need of a generator to run tools and lights at my of grid camp the generator is easy to operate dose a great job. I am able to lift and move generator in and out of truck for travel from home to camp and it is able to run lights at home in a powered outage

Q: Is this generator ok to sit out in the rain and I see it has 2 regular outlets for extension cords, can either of the other plugs be scaled down to accommodate a regular 120 v type plug

  • A: With a special cord from Champion you can convert the one twist lock 120v-30amp outlet to three 120v-20amp outlets. I'm not sure about the RV outlet.

Q: Does this generator need to be running for it to supply power to electrical systems? Does it have a battery that charges up for when it's not on?

  • A: Yes, it needs to be running but can run full blast for 8 hours on a tank of gas. We can run a tv, WIFI, fans, an oxygen concentrator (the reason we bought it) and plug in a toaster or kettle for a quick lunch when the power goes out. As a woman in her 60's, I can roll it out of the garage to the side of the house and start it up myself. Just use the large heavy duty extension cords to avoid power loss over a distance. I plug in two 50 foot extension cords and then power bar for the electrical appliances. There is no battery. It starts with just one easy pull of the cord.
