Great opener.....except

a year ago
I had a 27 year old opener fail and decided to replace with a new model. Lift Master was the original unit and I chose the Chamerlin Belt Drive. Very quiet and well made. The problem is the unit is for a 7 foot door. It was about 6 hours to remove the old and reinstall the new unit. I had to reposition the bracket to hold the unit. After installed, the realization that the door cannot be fully opened. I remeber 7 foot garage door from homes built in the 50's and 60's. * foot is the most common today, why not market a product that will not cause confusion, frustration and additional expense. So all of the "Atta-boys" for the opener go out the window with the 7 foot realization.
Prosbattery backup, quiet, WiFi Capable

No, I do not recommend this product.

  • A: 8 ft rail will be fine if you need the extra inch just leave the stop bolt out.
