This makes checking your tread depth dead simple, even when mounted. It's way easier than the quarter test which is in accurate, subjective, and hard to do on tires that are already mounted. This isn't. You just zero it, insert across your treads, push the center down, and voila. With this there is no excuse not to check your tire treads regularly.

A: La forme de la jauge est hexagone donc elle a 6 côtés, 3 pour les MM et 3 pour les 32nds (32nds of inch increments). Alors, les trois côtés MM du contrôleur d'usure sont utilisés pour exprimer le chiffre ''exact'' de ce qui reste de la profondeur de sculpture du pneu (tire tread depth). Exemple: Côté 1 = 9, Côté 2 = 10 et Côté 3 = 11, la ligne du 9MM (coté 1) apparaît comme étant la plus proche du bord métallique lors de la mesure prise au centre du pneu .C'est donc cette mesure-là qui est la bonne. Le même principe s'applique pour les 32nds.

A: No, it can not be pressed automatically. After measuring the tire pattern on the tire, pick it up to read the measurement, and then manually reposition it.
