Questions

Q: Wheel chocks needed with this? Is it recommended to use chocks for the rear wheels when jacking up the front of the car? Just need to know if I should buy those as well.

  • A: Wheel chocks are always a good idea. Whatever you can do to make the job safer - do it.

Q: I can't get the jack to rise. Just bought it. No manual

  • A: To Lift, turn the handle all the way clockwise until it stops and then pump the handle up and down. After turning the handle all the way clockwise you can also press down on the foot lever to raise quickly without having to pump the handle a bunch of times. To lower, turn the handle counterclockwise a half turn.

Q: Is it able to lift GROSS WEIGHT of 6724 lbs I have 2003 range rover , and I think it has gross weight of 6724 lbs , will this one be able to to lift and hold to get underneath or even for an oil change?

2 Answers
  • A: You should be using your curb weight to determine the weight limit for the jacks not your Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR). You said your GVWR is 6724 lbs, your curb weight will be much less. Curb weight is how much your vehicle weighs without passengers or cargo, I assume you're not jacking your vehicle up with passengers or heavy cargo in it (your mints, sunglasses and sweater is alright to leave in). The GVWR is the amount of weight your vehicle can safely carry, not the weight of the vehicle. Example my 2009 GMC Seirra 1500 Crew Cab has a curb weight of 5213 lbs and GVWR of 7000 lbs. So that means these 3 tons jacks are good to use for me. FYI the payload is the difference between my curb weight and GVWR, so in my case 1787 lbs.

Q: Is it possible to add more hydraulic fluid to this unit? It has been leaking and no longer works.

2 Answers
  • A: the very minimal user manual does say that hydraulic fluid can be added via a simple filler hole (sealed with a small bolt plug). Simply fill the level to the hole and seal it up (as per the manual).

Q: Is the lowering controllable ?

  • A: Absolutely! just be patient, my 17 year old sister used this as her first time using a jack and she lowered the front end of my 4,000lb car onto the stands without incident.

Q: How level does the ground have to be to safely use this jack?

2 Answers
  • A: the best answer that I can give you is if you're questioning it, DONT DO IT! Assuming you plan to go underneath the car, always make sure the ground is level and preferably concrete as the stands cannot sink in it during hot weather the way asphalt will. and always once its up chock the wheels and try to shove the car off the stands once its in the air, ALWAYS BETTER for it to fall now than while u are underneath.

Q: Weight? What is the weight of the jack itself? My storage situation would require lifting the jack so the weight is very important, and there are no display models at my local CT.
