A: Yes, you can set the heater to off and choose the colour of the lights separately. There’s also a timer for the heater that can be set so once the timer expires the heat shuts off but the lights remain on.

Q: Can the light strips be turned off if you wish to only have the fire light on?

A: The led lights plug into the fireplace insert and go on with the fire. As far as I can tell they would have to be unplugged if you didn't want them to turn on with the fire.
