Modern table and 4 chairs

We bought this set to match our other Canvas wood patio set. We love the wood table top and plan to apply teak oil and bought Tripel cover to protect the wood. We are pleased with our purchase.

Table discolouration

I bought this cute little set last weekend. It has been rainy and almost immediately the wood appeared discoloured, turning a dark greyish colour in places. It appears maybe the wood is absorbing water. I will cover it up for winter but it is supposed to be outdoor furniture and should be able to use it and keep it outside in summer and fall despite some rainy days. Would appreciate Canadian Tire advice on this - is this expected and once dried it will restore to it's brown colour, or is this set flawed and should be returned?
