Nothing special. Material is thin and almost see through. Rain proof is questionable but it keeps the sun off. I'd spend the extra next time and buy an actual canvas material. I've had a few umbrellas over the years and this one will most likely need to be replaced next year. Mediocre quality.

Q: Q: what is the WARRANTY on this thing, assuming it is used and not abused? If it rips under normal use, or if the crank fails without being stressed, what's the remedy? Thanks. JPC.

A: We have had this for 2 years and have had no issues. it is perfect for small areas and so far has not faded at all, Make sure you use a heavy base as the wind will pick it up easily. cranks are easy to move and it wraps up nicely for storage.

A: I don't have it around but 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 inches . No more than that. To be honest it not very useful. Too small . I had to move it from a table to just covering a BBQ for the sake of doing something with it. Round is better
