Wood cracked after first rain fall

Looked great out of the box. After the first rain fall two wood panned completely split (cracked). Also, water was staying within the table, it should be completely extended to dry out. I’m very nervous about this table now, but looks great and easy set up.

Liked the look of this table. Made of fake wood. Easy to assemble. The extension fits perfectly under the table and easy tput up. The only problem I have is lack of workmanship in the slats that dont fit, leaving a gap of 1/8 in gàp at each end of slats, ready to collect food. Would only recommend for a lower price.

Q: Will water pool on top of the table or do the slats allow rain to drain through?

A: Hi JRach, Thank you for your question. The slats will allow rain to drain through but there is still a chance of small pooling on the slats as they are a flat surface. The wood table top of the CANVAS Bromont Extendable Table is treated with a unique water-based finish that provides protection from the elements.

Q: Can this table hold an umbrella in the Center?

A: Hi The Canvas Bromont Extendable Table will not hold an umbrella in the centre of the table. We would suggest using an offset umbrella if you wish to have the option for shade.

Q: Hello, I just assembled the CANVAS bromont extendable dining table and wondering if I need to use a wood sealer right away to protect the eucalyptus wood surface?

A: Hi Nora, Thank you for your question. You do not need to use a wood sealer oil right away. We use a dual-layer coating on our eucalyptus wood that helps make it weather resistant. We recommend applying a hardwood sealer oil after 6 months of use.
