I bought this as a replacement because our old Black & Decker Family-Sized Non-Stick Electric Skillet's plastic leg broke and rendered the product unusable. The old skillet lasted many years and was happy with the quality of the product for the price.

Q: Way did the size of the skillet change, new ones are much smaller? Purchased a new B@D skillet and it is much smaller than my old one. And cannot immerse the new one in water to wash.

  • A: This model is in fact smaller than the model you may have purchased several years ago. This model is in fact a skillet, the older model you are referring to was discontinued by the company almost 3 years ago. It was referred actually as a Deep Dutch . All skillets can in fact be immersed in water as per the instruction manual. You just need to remove the probe first. The probe is not to be immersed in water.
