    very poor quality

bought this iron only 6 months ago. It is a piece of junk. Leaked after a month, the continuous steam is a plus but everything else is poor quality. It finally quit on me last week. First time buying Black & Decker but definitely will never buy again.

    Died after 15 months use

Although it worked fine, nothing exceptional or note worthy, I was in the middle of ironing - steaming woolens to put away for the summer - and it just shut itself off, stopped working. I let it cool down and plugged it in the next day but nothing, it died.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Le fil a brisé et une odeur de bruler. Le fer ne fonctionne plus apres 23 mois.

    Worst Iron Ever

I first bought this about 4 months ago and 3 months later, the steam stopped working and it had to be replaced. I exchanged it for another one and now, 1 month later, the steam on the new one has stopped working. I'm going on number 3 without much hope. Total waste of money. I had my last iron for about 15 years, so I really expected more than a month or two. Pathetic. Also, it is very loud.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: How to decide between models? I can't decide between the B&D all temp iron #43-2568-6 and the B&D prof iron #43-2506-4. Other than the INOX soleplate and 2 yr warranty is there much difference? No problem paying more. Simply want an honest "sell me on one over the other".

    • A: Either iron produces lots of steam but from the reviews I gather the Pro is more reliable once you figure out how to open the door to the water tank. Pro vs All-Temp: 1400 W vs 1200 W. Only makes a difference in time to reach operating temp. Steam varies independantly versus set amount per setting with the All Temp. The Pro has a bigger plate and tank and as you noted it's plate is better. Less running back and forth filling it up. I'd rank the Pro a bit better for all of the above reasons and so it's the one I bought. But if those differences are not that big a deal for you and you dont iron all that much, then keep your extra money and buy the cheaper one. After all we are talking about an iron here, not a car.
