This is my second rechargeable stick vacuum, and compared to my Dyson, it's more noisy and less powerful. But it was also substantially less expensive. The removable hand vacuum is a great idea; again, more suction power would be nice.

Loses suction quickly

Bought this on sale a little over 2 years ago. It worked fairly well for most of that time (though not as well as a corded vacuum), but started losing suction about 6 months ago. Now it doesn't suck up anything at all, despite regular cleaning and maintenance. For the price, I expected a much longer lifespan. This ended up being a disappointment.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Great value for money - replacing same that died

Had this exact model type of Bissell Vacuum for about 7 years which finally died. This all around model is great value for the money. You want to make sure you get this model with the higher voltage. Highly recommend.

A: I would not use the bissell adapt ion for wet applications. You may find that it clogs the filter and makes the holding canister mucky. I would recommend this product for dry applications only.

Q: Can this vacuum only be charged using the base? I'd like to charge it where ever I need, instead of only in one spot, or having to move the whole base to do so. My current one has an adapter that I can plug in anywhere to charge it, which I prefer.

A: No... make sure to clean your brush regularly and that it is properly inserted... I clean the filter cup and roller brush after each use so that it remains in optimal shape and is ready to use when I need it... I have purchased a second one as I am most pleased with it's performance.
