Bad Unit

I wanted to love this carpet cleaner but I have had nonstop issues with my unit over the last 2 years. It leaks from multiple places and now the trigger is constantly getting stuck even without pressure on it to push it in, unloading all the clean water onto the floor. I sent it in for repair once for leaking and the issue was not fixed. I gave up at that point because it is not an easy machine to just pack up and ship back and forth. I do have other products from BISSELL that have lasted me a few years before issue, so I think I just got unlucky with my carpet cleaner.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Works well on regular and shag carpets. Didn’t leave the shag carpet too wet but it did take longer to dry. I will try it on stairs next time. Easy to take apart and clean which I really like.

We bought this machine to replace our old Bissell (10+ years) that started leaking. This one is so much lighter and really sucks! That’s a great thing in this case lol We recommend this brand (long lasting) and this product because it cleaned up the doggie mess, removing hair and dirt with ease.

Does what it says on the tin. HOWEVER, the brushes are far to hard for wool or looped carpets, something not stated in the description. Also drying isn't 30 minutes as stated.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: The product name is Proheat 2X.Does the machine heat the water or just uses hot water manually poured in tank?

  • A: It won't heat up cold water for you - BUT the hot water you put in is supposed to be kept hot. Not terribly certain if it does ... however, it does do a good job! My one complaint is that my old machine kept solution separate from the water tank and would mix/use only what you need at the time. By having to mix all the water with this model, if there is some left over, you would have to empty and heat up next time.

Q: Is this safe to use on an area rug that is on top of hardwood floors? Will it make the hardwood floor damp underneath ?

  • A: The machine does an awesome job! My only reservation would be the size of the tank. The older models had a much bigger tank. If you don't mind refilling and emptying fairly often on bigger rooms, then I'd say, go for it.

  • A: It depends what setting you have it on. There is are 3 settings that indicate how deep you want it to clean. The express setting doesn't take long to dry, but the deepest clean will take a few hours to dry.

Q: I just did my carpeted stairs using the hose, very little dirty water went in the tank and the spin brush part is leaking a pool of water on my floor. What am I doing wrong?

  • A: Darshan, this machine could be used on area rugs if they are safe to deep clean. It's not meant for dry vacuuming and won't work well for that purpose as it's a carpet cleaner.
