I wanted a better cutting stool for work, this one has metal legs which hare much better than standard hair cutting stools which are cheaply made now with hollow plastic legs and they are triple the price they used to be .. so far this one is great and it looks very stylish at work

Q: I bought this and the wheels keep coming out (lost my receipt)! I use an Allen wrench to tighten them but maybe I am doing it wrong/not enough because they start to twist themselves out again! How do you get the wheels to stay in?

A: You need a 14mm-wide flat hexagon wrench, preferably thin, but the aperture is wide enough for a thicker one. Your bicycle shop should be able to help you. The bolts on the casters will always come loose as you swivel around in the chair, no matter how tightly you put them in. They need to be checked every month and retightened if necessary. The stresses on these bolts are so great that putting Loctite on them will probably not keep them tight.

Q: Any idea what the thread pitch is for the castors? I bought one and two wheels broke on day one. Kinda sad as im only 170lbs. Would rather replace them then exchange and build it/break it again.

Q: I am interested in getting the biker style shop stool. Do the casters lock. I would probably want to replace the casters with rubber feet. What size of rubber feet would fit it?

A: The casters do not lock. You could probably put rubber feet instead, but be aware that where the casters connect, the legs are formed in a semicircle about 1 1/2’’ in diameter, so there is only an edge at that point and the rest is recessed. Otherwise it is a great chair, easy to assemble.

Q: Can Different castors be put on the seat? I note not one good review about the castors, all the same. If new castors, quality ones, can be put on, then maybe the stool is worth purchasing?

A: Yes, the caster wheels on this shop stool can be repaired or replaced. The current caster wheels are 2-inch diameter (nylon) with M10 x 11mm thread.
