Great Kettle

I bought the Betty Crocker kettle several years ago and it still works fine - and I'm about to buy another one. I don't like the kettles with the removable base because I don't store my kettle on the kitchen counter so having to deal with the two pieces is a pain. You can boil a large quantity of water and it shuts off automatically which is great if you're like me and forget you switched it on! And the price is right!

Works till it won't

This kettle got good reviews so I got it. As I subsequently found out, the good reviews are within a few months of purchase. Use it for more than a year and the switch gives out. Flip it up and down like crazy (20+ times real quick) and you MIGHT get it to turn on. Look for something else.
