A: I don't use the torch a lot at home which is what I bought it for. I had broke my old Berzamatic TS400 propane torch so I want to upgrade to this unit as it burns both Mapp and propane. First time using MAPP and I love that it is much hotter which was one of the reasons I wanted to go with MAPP. Way quicker soldering copper pipe or heating things up. I can heat steel red hot much faster than with propane. I hope is helps you

A: Depends on what sort of art you want to do. I bought one to try and melt copper so I could make beads and makume, but it didn't get hot enough. I'm not sure what you want to use it for, but it's a pretty handy torch as long as you aren't looking to melt metal.
