nice little unit but the output is weak.

This is a nice little unit but the controls and output are a bit weak. When it is plugged in it starts on the low speed. The air flow is barely perceptible. Pushing the power button puts the machine on 'high'. The push button is supposed to beep when pressed but haven't heard it. The 'high' speed creates a gentle flow which may be all that is needed. Not a high powered air cleaner if that is what you are after.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: How often do i need to change the filer

A: Did dig up the manual. My previous answers were based on some incomplete information. Hope you got more information from others. The short version is: - manual says the filter should be "changed 3-12 months according to the pollution of the filter", -and a warning goes off when the unit thinks the filter has "expired". (not sure how it decides this) --------------------------------------- Details -the filter is listed as "Charcoal on the Canadian Tire specs table for both the unit and the filter, though the manual does not specify REMINDER OF FILTER LIFE The manual spells out the "reminder of filter life" feature and indicates to: "Change the filter every 3-12 months according to the pollution of the filter". Re Reminder of filter life it says: "if you hear the sounds of ding ding ding and the air quality indicator shows red and continuously flashes red for 5 seconds then returns to normal the filter life has expired and it must be changed." Not exactly clear how long the filter decides it must be reset (some home filters have you set a timer till the filter need to be reset, but some measure the air flow to see if filter is clogged) -----------------------------------

Q: This unit does not have a HEPA filter in it. The description is wrong.
