I feed squirrels with it, they seem to love it. Plumpest squirrels on the block. Signed: Squirrel Daddy

More economical than unshelled peanuts

I used to buy unshelled peanuts for our BlueJays until realizing the shells make up 30% of the weight. When comparing the actual cost per pound of each type of peanut (shelled, unshelled) the shelled peanuts are less expensive, the BlueJays are happy, and there's no peanut shells to clean up in the spring.

A big hit at our feeders

Chickadees, Nuthatches & Juncos source these at our screened nut feeders. Some of the peanuts are too big to be extracted so I reserve them for the woodpeckers (Downy, Flicker and Hairy). Even the Steller's Jay likes them. Me, not so much as I like mine salted.
