Granular Bromine at a Reasonable Price

I have been buying granular bromine for my hot tub from Canadian Tire for a couple of years now and it works great. It is also much cheaper then buying Granular Bromine from a Hot Tub Store.

Q: Can these granules be used in the dispenser that attaches to the saluspa hot tub instead of the 1 in diameter tablets ? They are just so messy to break up then fit into the chem dispenser.l

A: I don't have a dispenser on my Hot Tub (I'm it!). But if you have to break up the tablets into little pieces then it's worth trying the granules instead. I simply use a desert size spoonful of granules every two-three days to keep the bromine in the correct range.

Q: How long after adding gran brom to hot tub do you need to wait to get in?

A: The fine print on the container says 4 hours if you are putting in a heavy dose. I would wait at least 30 mins with the circulation going so that all the granules are dissolved. However I get around this by adding Gran-Brom AFTER we have finished using the hot tub, and leave the pump going for a while.

Q: Arent all Sodium Bromide related products now banned in Canada? Confused. This (and many other manufacturers) say it’s has 14.8% Sodium Bromide

A: Hi, Pure sodium bromide product are banned. Blended product with sodium bromide respecting a certain level is still accepted by Health Canada. This product is a mix of DCCNa and sodium bromide. Thank you

A: Hi, no problem both product can be used at the same time. If you are using the Brome tabs as your main sanitizer the Gran Brom can be used as your weekly or as needed shock. If you are out of Brome tabs, Gran Brom can also be used as your main sanitizer. Thank you

A: Hi, the dosage is 7g/1 000L every day. This is the generic dosage, depending the frequency and the number of users, the demand could be lower or higher. We recommend that you test your water on a weekly basis with the Aquarius Tes Strips, 081-3728. You should maintain a bromine level between 3-5 ppm. Thank you
