Product Details

Head Gasket ensures a leak-proof seal for your engine. Manufactured with precision using multiple layers of steel and specifically engineered sealing beads, this gasket contains peak combustion pressures and temperatures within your cylinder head and block. The advanced polymer coatings maintain proper contact pressure between the head and block for the life of the engine. Unlike some multilayer steel gaskets, this aftermarket gasket accommodates a wider range of surface finishes thanks to a proprietary coating. Precision tooling positions the sealing beads exactly to guarantee the correct profile. Get the model made for your specific vehicle and engine to lock in a robust seal.

  • Engineered to deliver a perfect seal on every engine

  • Provide a durable, leak-resistant seal on racing and special performance engines and are intended for use by the professional race engine builder or the serious amateur enthusiast who will settle for nothing less than the best

    Fel-Pro Head Gasket installed fine.

Had a bit of trouble at first, because I tried installing the replacement cylinder head without first removing the upper engine mount. Lesson learned: Need to remove upper engine mount first, before installing cylinder head. Then, attach upper engine mount to cylinder head. Then bolt upper engine mount to car frame. Another mistake I made was not supporting the engine at the 'dogbone' joint. Instead, I followed the pictures in the Haynes and Chilton manuals, which showed a jack placed under the engine with a block of wood, but not under the oil pan, and not under the 'dogbone' joint. I only learned of the dogbone joint later. When I left the car for the night with the old cylinder head off, and then came back the next morning, the engine had shifted quite a bit, and the upper engine mount seemed to have some play, so I was concerned that I may have bent or crushed something. I had learned about the 'dogbone' joint overnight, so moved the jack to this joint. I don't have 2 jacks, so had to improvise this maneuver. Let's just say it involved a stack of thick books inside a couple plastic bags. Perhaps a better lesson learned is to install the replacement cylinder head and upper engine mount as soon as possible, so as not to have the engine supported by the jack for too long. Because of all this learning, I didn't sandwich the head gasket between the cylinder head and engine block in one try, and the surfaces touched a number of times and there was some sliding (but no scraping), and I was concerned that I might have damaged the head gasket, but 1,000 kms after the repair and no leaks, so the head gasket seems to be working fine. Engine mounts also seem fine.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    • A: We carry three different head gasket sets for your 2003 Honda Civic. You will need to determine the Engine Designation code in order to ensure you purchase the correct gasket set. Below I have provided the various options that CT offers and the corresponding engine code designations that apply to each kit. Our kits also include the valve stem seals as well. 017-8866 (HS26236PT) Engine Designation: D17A1 017-8867 (HS26236PT1) Engine Designation: D17A7 017-8868 (HS26236PT2) Engine Designation: D17A2 – D17A6
