Steering gears, also known as recirculating ball gears or gear boxes, are used in the steering systems for rear-wheel-drive cars and trucks.
As a sustainable manufacturer, BBB remanufactures for all makes and models with precision, using an OE-engineered process that is similar to how new gears are made.
Gear housings are inspected and bead-blasted to eliminate rust and corrosion
Sector shafts are Magnafluxed to ensure structural integrity
Sealing surfaces are inspected, reconditioned and polished

Pro's - a 1 yr warranty. Con's - I need the warranty. 1st one is being replaced because the sector shaft bearing is worn out, there's a ton of play in the steering. We'll see how the 2nd one lasts. Another fairly major caveat, it is NOT the large bore box the Durango should have. It's just a regular box. It was supposed to be an upgrade for the TJ :(

this pinion is worth "pinnys". keeps the shaft turning but thats about it. the gears turn well with this unit. the tranny is pretty important and this it a part of the transmission so that makes it a pretty important piece of the transmission. Thanks
