Ill shop princess auto next time

Staff was unhelpful, refused to price match princess auto for the exact same can. This is why big retail is failing.

Questions

1 - 10 of 11 Questions

Q: Tip over Does it tip over easily when driving? Around turns etc?

4 Answers
  • A: By law, in Canada, all hazardous materials MUST be strapped down no matter where they are placed in a moving vehicle. So NO, it will not tip if your are transporting safely and legally

Q: is this can available in diesel yellow?

  • A: Not on Canadian Tire shelves but there certainly is the Scepter 20L Jeep-style can in diesel yellow and kerosene blue at other retailers.

Q: What does the Spout look like? Is it a CARB type spout or an old style colapsable spout?

3 Answers
  • A: The old style I think, as I change all of my cans to the push and release like the race car type for refueling as soon as I buy a can. It's makes refueling easier with this spout.

Q: Is this 20 liter can still available with the rear vent cap or are they now only available in the CARB compliant non vented style?

  • A: Yep they still have the vent cap!

Q: What is the height of this gas can? Can you provide the dimensions?

3 Answers
  • A: The 03609 Military style 20 liter can with the rear vent is roughly 18.5 inches tall x 13 inches x 7 inches. I'll add some pictures if I can.

Q: What does 'self-ventilating' mean exactly? Does gas need to be oxygenated of sorts to stay effective? I'm guessing there's a hole in the top for it to allow gas to escape to prevent the gas from going bad, for a lack of a better word.

1 Answer
  • A: Hi Curtis - When we say "self-venting" we are referring to the fact that the spout has a channel for venting when pouring allowing for a faster pour. The self-venting spout has nothing to do with the longevity of the gasoline, we cannot comment on that. For further information about gas we recommend you contact the manufacturers of the fuel. If you have any further questions regarding the fuel can please contact our Customer Care Team toll free at 1-800-387-6018. Have a great day

Q: Can these containers be used to transport drinking water

1 Answer
  • A: The red fuel cans are designed for gasoline and therefore the materials used would not be suitable for water. Scepter does manufacture a water can of this style which is designed for water transport. If you require further information please contact any of our customer service representatives toll free at 1-800-387-6018 (M-F) from 8 - 5 EST.

Q: Is this the standard military gas can dimensions? Or will it fit in a carrier designed for the military gas cans?

  • A: We would like to hear from you, please contact our Customer Service Team at 1-800-387-6018 (M-F from 8 - 5)

Q: Is it normal that the vent cap does not screw tight? The vent cap cannot be screwed tight. It is too loose for the male threads on the can. It seems done by design. Anyone experienced some problems (leak, smell, etc …) with that vent cap? I tested all cans on the shelf and they are the same!

1 Answer
  • A: This is normal, the vent cap works like a pill bottle.

Q: Can these be transported with gas on their sides? I am looking to transport this on a carrier rack on top of a FJ Cruiser and would prefer to have a low-profile. So, if I strapped this to the top rack on it's side, would it present any issues?

1 Answer
  • A: Hello and thank-you for your question. We reccommend that all of our cans be securely stored in their upright positions. Learn more about safe use here: http://www.scepterconsumer.com/safety_compliance/safe_use/. We do have some lower profile cans available.
