On the road again!

After trying one ordered from Amazon and being disappointed, I installed one from PartSource. So far, it’s been performing flawlessly. Somewhat a bit more money, but reliability makes it good value.

Way smaller and wrong plug orientation

Physically, the alternator itself could be mounted in the brackets, but that’s where the similarities ended. My original alternator was much bigger and the way the connections for the wires were oriented was completely different, leaving me unable to hook up the wiring harness. There was no amperage rating on the alternator itself so I couldn’t compare with the original, but regardless, the wires didn’t fit. I ended up having to return it. I had not selected this particular alternator myself. It was the one the mobile app identified as the proper one (with no choice or substitute). I had ordered online from another city as my local store did not have stock. I returned it to my local store without any problems. Happy with the ordering, shipping and return/refund part of the process, disappointed with getting a product that didn’t fit.
