Snow Peak Rated

The 3 Peak Mountain Snowflake symbol indicates the tire is rated for Severe Snow Service. This is the acceptable standard for winter driving in Canada and provides improved safety on snow and ice.

Mud And Snow Rated

The M+S symbol differentiates an All-Season tire from a Summer only tire. While rated for light snow, they will not match a winter tire for traction or stopping distance on snow and ice.

Accepts Studs

This tire can have studs installed to provide additional mechanical traction on icy surfaces. Studded tires are prohibited by law in many provinces. Ask at your local Canadian Tire store.

No grip at icy junctions

Had these tires fitted as part of my deal when purchasing a used Kia. I wish I had just foregone these, and purchased my own set. First time out on ice in Calgary, I approached a junction quite slowly - applied the brake, and the car just skidded, and kept skidding with the ABS going like crazy. We came to a stop just inside the junction. Keep in mind that these are BRAND NEW. Since then I've safely experimented with braking at the icy junction, and have to conclude that these are absolute trash. I think all seasons may have better performance than these. Although I'm going to be out of pocket, I'm changing these for something better. I would strongly advise against these tires for use in icy conditions.
