Q: Is the tire performance and wear impacted if not using the studs. As in do the holes affect the performance versus a tire that doesn’t have the holes in it?
a year agoA: No — the presence of stud holes alone does not meaningfully reduce tire performance or accelerate wear when you run them without studs.

Q: What is the UTQG rating for these tires? (Traction, temperature, and treadwear)
a year agoA: Quote from a tire manufacturer. "UTQG markings are not required for deep-treaded light truck tires, winter/snow tires, temporary spare tires, trailer tires, and tires under 12-inches in diameter" Because they're meant for winter conditions, a valid UTQG code compared to a summer tire is not possible. Winter tires typically have a softer runner compound for the colder temperature. This would result in accelerated wear if used in summer. However from experience (2 sets) I can say the the Altimax are a very good winter tire with the first set lasting me 5-6 winters
